Temperature tower maker

A temperature tower prints the same small test at a range of nozzle temperatures, one on top of another, so you can see which one gives the cleanest bridges, overhangs and surfaces for a filament.

Temperatures

9 levels, from 230 °C at the bottom to 190 °C at the top. Hotter is at the bottom because the printer starts hot and cools as the tower grows.

Changing temperature as it prints

The model only carries the labels; your slicer has to change the temperature at each level. Set the filament temperature to 230 °C, then change it at these heights:

From heightTemperature
Start230 °C
11 mm225 °C
21 mm220 °C
31 mm215 °C
41 mm210 °C
51 mm205 °C
61 mm200 °C
71 mm195 °C
81 mm190 °C

Paste this into the printer's custom G-code under “Before layer change”, then remove it once the tower is done. In Cura, use the “ChangeAtZ” post-processing script with the heights above.
