Gaps or thin walls at corners
Walls are thin or have gaps just after sharp corners or at the start of a line, while the straight parts look fine.
Also described as under extrusion at corners, gaps in perimeter, thin corners, corner gaps, gap after corner, pressure advance too high
Try these in order
Most likely and quickest to check first. Change one thing at a time so you know what fixed it.
Pressure advance (linear advance) set too high
Pressure advance eases off the extruder before corners. Set too high, it takes away too much plastic there.
- Run the pressure advance calibration for each filament and use the value it gives.
- Lower the value in small steps until the corners fill without bulging.
Printing too fast
- Lower the outer wall speed and acceleration, and set a maximum volumetric speed in the slicer.
Retraction or wipe at the seam
- If the gap is where each layer starts, see visible seam.
